IT’S SHRED TIME
The way that Tiffany Keep bombs down hills, shreds gnarly trails and floats over gap jumps is truly awe-inspiring. This super-talented sixteen-year-old has been selected to represent South Africa at the 2017 World Mountain Bike Championships in Cairns, Australia. Unfortunately, due to limited financial support from our national body – the athletes have to self-fund their way overseas – so let’s back our girl and watch her slay it in Cairns!
Tiff first hopped on a bike at the tender age of three and never looked back. Her father is a keen cyclist and has encouraged her through the years. She has been racing for the past nine years and is a true athlete, excelling in all of the cycling disciplines that she has taken part in – taking KZN as well as National titles in road, time-trial, marathon mountain biking, Duathlon and XCO cycling events. Tiffany attributes her success to a strong mind, 5 to 6 days of training a week and the support of her family and friends, her coach, KZN cycling, and the Prime Human Performance Institute. Tiffany’s focus is on XCO and her goal is to become a professional XCO rider. Ultimately she dreams to follow in the footsteps of her idol Jolanda Neff.
Tiffany is a true mountain biking ambassador and has hosted Girls’ Only cycling clinics to help aspiring young girls with skills, training and technical tips. She recently ran a clinic to help raise funds for the World Champs, and along with the backabuddy crowd funding initiative has made some headway, but she is still short of funds to get her there. Let’s help our pocket-rocket!
